Artist Statement in regards to this series: While working on this series I contemplated what 2020 meant to me. I spent a lot of time in my home occupying my children with home schooling as well as attempting to entertain and distract them from the horror happening all around us: the pandemic, the administration, the world literally burning. While some thrived with new hobbies, businesses, and cooking routines, others suffered through this isolating year. My self-portrait was a very personal journey involving my children's teeth. I will forever cherish this piece that we are so connected together in.
